Providing an opportunity for children to interact with and learn about the animals who share our world, the Helen Woodward Animal Center Critter Camp is one of a kind! Your kids will have a great time while also learning about respect, compassion and care for animals. Hands-on animal encounters, developmentally appropriate activities, rotating curriculums and guest speakers ensure this will be an unforgettable camp experience for your animal loving kids. At Critter Camp, class sizes are limited to 15 children and each group is led by a specially trained educator and two assistants – providing a 5:1 ratio. Kids are grouped by age and grade with age-appropriate activities. Before/after care with a structured program is available daily for an additional fee, beginning at 8am until 5pm. The 7th – 8th Grade Leadership Camp focuses on volunteering and career opportunities with animals, animal education, leadership training, and learning how to assist with younger campers. Pre-K to 6th Grade themes include Movin’ and Groovin’, Summertime Oasis, The Amazing Race, and more! Helen Woodward Animal Center's Mission is the passionate belief that animals help people and people help animals through trust, unconditional love and respect – creating a legacy of caring. Sharing this philosophy with others, the Center inspires and teaches, locally and globally, the importance of the animal-human bond. The Education and Learning Center provides a variety of unique learning opportunities which support the bond between humans and animals by nurturing knowledge, compassion, and respect toward all living things.
