Built in 1925, the historic “Plunge” is Southern California’s largest indoor pool, located beachside in Mission Beach. Offering a wide variety of classes including hip hop, krumping, breaking, double-dutch, rap/MCing, photography, fashion and much more, The Origin is a non-profit organization in association with Young Artist Music Academy started by Cheryl Frye and her children Darius and Destiny in 2002.  Since then they have taught hip hop classes and children’s theater to children, teens and adults all over San Diego with their dance troupes Small Frye, Generation F, The Next Generation and Full Swagger. They have performed throughout California including Knott’s Berry Farm, SAY Day at the Bay, Kuumba Fest at The Lyceum Theater and Hip Hop International USA/World Hip Hop Competition and many more local venues. The Origin Hip Hop Camp has you covered! For an unbelievable price of just $15 a day, your kids will be thoroughly entertained, educated and exercised for up to nine hours. You get to choose the days of the week that work best – or combine certificates for a full week. Camp days runs June 17th through August 2nd.

The high energy intensive dance program also incorporates elements of art, poetry, music video and audio productions along with traditional camp fun. Campers will receive 3-4 hours daily in dance/fitness instruction in various hip hop dance styles including locking, popping, breaking and step/gumboot. They will also participate in fitness activities including Zumba and double-dutch jump rope. In addition, campers will explore art, fashion design, photography, poetry & Kid Biz (starting your own business) – and even swimming as an option at Fletcher Hills Pool!

The 4-Day, 3-hour Princess Camp ($67) is designed for ages 3 to 7. Your kids will learn about the most famous fairies and cartoon princesses, create wands and fairy puppets, make hair and face make-up and much more!

In the 4-Day, 3-hour Superheroes Camp ($67, ages 3 to 7), children will discover the super power of favorite superheroes through storytelling, crafts and much more.

5 to 9 year olds will love the 4-Day, 3-hour ($138) Adventures in Science and Nature Camp where they will explore the world through microscope and different science projects each day, including growing crystals, discovering the magnet world, and experimenting with water cycles.

For your budding artist, take advantage of the 4-Day, 2-hour ($60) Art Camp for 5 to 9 year olds with tons of crafts and ceramic/wood painting opportunities. 

The 2-Day, 4-hour Chef Academy Camp ($42) includes playtime, hands-on food preparation, and an instructor-led discussion about nutrition. Afterward, kids ages 4 to 10 can eat their own creations.

Daily camp ($35) for ages 3-10 runs every day (except Saturdays and Sundays) from 10am to 5pm. Your kids will have fun for the whole day in the largest indoor playground in North County!
