Be inspired with a fun and fabulous class from The Conscious Cook – where you will learn delicious, wholesome recipes as well as easy tools for success in the kitchen. Menus are primarily plant based with some meat options. The discussion and cooking topics are focused on healthy cooking, eating and living. You will get to sample all the food and take home the recipes to try for yourself. No two classes are the exactly the same – so you are encouraged to buy multiples!

Each class is taught by a trained chef who will discuss various topics involving diet related health concerns and healthy eating in general with various types of cuisine. Sample menus include Quinoa Salad with Raw Tahini Sauce, Ratatouille, Tangy Tomato Soup with Basil, Green Tea Mango Blast Smoothie, Peach Smoothie, Apple Cinnamon Cobbler and much more. Topics discussed include Eating for Balance, Ayurveda, DETOX Dieting, Vegetarian Delights, Healthy Oils and Fats, Sugar Blues, Eating with the Seasons, Eating for Performance, Eating Locally, How to Grow your own Organic Garden and Kids Cooking. Owner Sadie King opened The Conscious Cook in April 2009 and has been studying, researching, and practicing natural health and wellness for over a decade. Sadie graduated from Humboldt State University with a BA in 2002 and moved to San Diego in 2004. Since March of 2006 Sadie has been teaching families how to cook and eat healthier using the right equipment and techniques. She became a Certified Nutritionist (CN) in 2010. BLC utilizes the most up-to-date technology and methods to help students master necessary skills to be successful in the classroom in a fun, encouraging environment.
